Day trip from Dubrovnik to Elafiti Islands

Visiting Elafiti Archipelago

If you are visiting Dubrovnik for more than a couple of days (which is recommended), it is a good idea to spend a day away from the town and take a ferry to Elafiti archipelago as it is the attractive and largely unspoiled archipelago that is within easy reach of Dubrovnik (see Map of Elaphiti Archipelago)

Islands in the archipelago include Daksa, Koločep, Sveti Andrija, Lopud (check its art pavilion), Ruda, Šipan, Mišnjak, Jakljan, Kosmeč, Goleč, Crkvine, Tajan and Olipa.

There are regular ferry crossings to three main islands of this archipelago (Sipan, Lopud and Kolocep) from Dubrovnik/Gruž’s main ferry terminal by regular ferry services.

For smaller islands, check with local taxi boats in Gruž for details about their departures.

Further away is Mljet Island which has a national park and lakeside monastery. Please note, to visit Mljet, you would need to spend at least an additional day in the area.

If you are interested in seeing this archipelago, you can do an online booking via our partner site :

This is a video clip of a ferry boat that sails daily to the Elafiti islands. It stops in Sipan, Lopud and Kolocep. I took this video clip in Dubrovnik ferry port in Gruz on my recent visit.
