Return visit to Sobra (Mljet) from Dubrovnik Airport

    I am spending 2 weeks in Sobra, arriving at Dubrovnik Airport at 09:15 on 31/05/18 and leaving at 10:30 on 14/06/18.

    I can’t find information about buses between Dubrovnik airport and Prapratno, please can you advise of the quickest way to get to and from Sobra?

    Hi MaryAnn,

    The afternoon bus from Dubrovnik to Vela Luka (Korcula Island) passes near Prapratno. You will have about 15 – 20 minutes walk downhill to the ferry port. You should be able to get ferry at 17:00 from Prapratno to Sobra on Mljet.

    The next one is at 20:30 which is also the last one to the island.

    Instead, it is better and easier option to take foot passenger fast catamaran from Dubrovnik to Pomena (also on Mljet island) and take taxi from Pomena to Sobra. Departs Dubrovnik at 16:30 arrives Pomena at 17:45.

    To get back to Dubrovnik and get your flight at 10:30 you will probably be better off to overnight in Dubrovnik.

    You can also take fast catamaran to Sobra from Dubrovnik leaving at 14:30 run by G&V line, and use same one for early morning return back to Dubrovnik at 6:15.

    You can be back in Dubrovnik at about 7:30, take a taxi to airport and still get that flight at 10:30.

    The timing is bit tight but still doable.

    For your return trip, if weather is bad and catamaran ferry is not running, you can consider to take private transfer to the airport. That may be good way, check that option with local taxies for quotation once you arrive in Mljet.
